Lindsay Lohan sentenced for drink driving and drugs

Actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to one day in jail after she pleaded guilty to drink driving and drug charges.

Lindsay Lohan was also put on three years' probation, and must do community service as well as completing a drug rehab programme.

Lindsay Lohan is reported to have said: Lohan said:

"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs."

Lindsay Lohan had crashed her car in Los Angeles back in May and was arrested then, and then in July she was stopped and arrested by police for a second time when they found cocaine in her possession.

At first Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to four days in jail but she was allowed the option of doing 10 days of community service, which would take two days off her sentence.

Because she had already been in custody for a day, the judge gave Lindsay Lohan one day of credit, which left just the one day to serve.

Lindsay Lohan is required to serve her jail sentence and do the community service and drug rehab by 18 January.
