Just a year ago, building designs of the containers seem something original and surprising. And now it has become one of the architectural trends. Even goes so far that in the heart of New York's plan to create .nine-mall, created from old cargo containers.
When a group of architects under the name of the SEED Klimsonovskogo University suggested using old shipping containers to reconstitute the housing stock destroyed by an earthquake in Haiti, the world community is outraged, saying the United States of America want a way to get rid of their garbage.
But it is not so! Indeed, in the U.S. plan to build a completely massive building of the same material, and not somewhere in the outback, and in the heart of New York, on the island of Manhattan!
Architectural firm LOT-EK, a major focus of which is to create structures from old cargo containers, recently presented a rather unusual even for a project. This project involves the construction of New York at the intersection of 42 th Street and 5 th Avenue of the nine trade center, created out of, say, all the same container!
It will be cheap, durable and spacious building! The system of stairs, escalators and lifts will allow users of the mall without any problems, move on it. In each of the containers will be a separate store. And connect they will be built outside the transitions.
Moreover, the containers that make up this shopping center will be set not exactly. So that the building will be quite original appearance. A certain distance between the containers will arrive inside the Mall of fresh air for ventilation and light for natural lighting.
