Bush is scheduled to release "Director's Cut," a compilation featuring re-recordings of previously available songs, later this month.
The reworking of old tracks sparked fears among some fans that the British star is not writing new material, but she's now revealed she is planning to record a new album soon.
She tells BBC Radio 4, "I've done most of the writing for it... It's very frustrating the albums take as long as they do. I wish there weren't such big gaps between them."
Bush's last studio album of new songs, "Aerial," was released in 2005.
