Have a Happy Holiday!
Buddy T
From Buddy T, your Guide to Alcoholism
You are in recovery, you are not in prison. Remember to not take yourself so seriously, and have a good time. The holidays can be fun, if you choose to look for the fun parts and ignore the pitfalls.
It's Okay to Celebrate!
We spend so much time trying to help those who struggle with the holidays, that sometimes we forget that for most people in recovery, it's a joyful, happy time and a reason to celebrate.

Tips From Others in Recovery
Martha B's Tip
Someone suggested that anyone having a bad holiday should "get out of the problem and into the solution."

Nadia P's Tip
Going into an AA meeting where I know no one's name, but yet I know everyone, makes the holidays more bareable.

Penny's Tip
On the night of the party I would have attended in the past, I made plans to be active with my family.

Lynne's Tip
Never go anywhere alone if there is going to be alochol. I take an AA buddy with me.

Lisa's Tip
At all costs stay away from old people, places, and things you were familiar and comfortable with while drinking.
